Comments: I would like to name this new Manta Nae’ole in honor of Clifford Nae’ole, the Hawaiian Cultural Advisor at The Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua, Maui. Clifford has been sharing insights into the Hawaiian Culture to Maui Visitors and the local community at the resort for 25 years. Clifford passes on the importance of preserving the fragile environment of the island as a priority.   I first sighted Nae’ole off of Polo Beach on May 6, 2017. Nae’ole is 6 feet across and 4 feet long.   Nae’ole was seen in about 12 feet of water  on a clear Maui morning.
