'Ele'ele is "black" in Hawaiian, and Ka'ohe is the name of the bay at the base of the Kona Palisades subdivision which is where this manta was first sighted by Susan. Unusally, there were 3 seperate sighting of this large black pelagic within a short amount of time - first at Pebble Beach on Aug 4th, at Lone Tree Arch on Aug 8th, and back at Pebble Beach on Sep 9th.
