On August 1, 2011 we made an early morning dive near Honokohau Harbor. This small 4-5 foot manta came cruising right at us at about 50 feet of depth. She was not at all shy - let us swim right next to her and she swam back and forth in front of us several times. She was absolutely perfect - no scrapes, no cuts, long, straight tail - just perfect. She's named Jordan in honor of our extraordinary Jordan Davis (also perfect with no scrapes, no cuts and a long, straight tail) who works here in our shop and as a snorkel guide during our Manta Ray Night Dive trips. Jordan was diving with us that morning to celebrate her August 1st birthday!

In November of 2012, Keller Laros was diving at Garden Eel Cove when he spotted what appeared to be a new baby male manta. Upon further investigation, we realized that Jordan was not a female ray as originally thought, but was just an imature male!
