Lupe is a large black pelagic female ray, estimated to be about 12-14 feet.. She was first sighted on June 3, 2003 in 40 feet of water off three-room cave by Bob Jensen. She is named in memory of his mother-in-law Ruby Hampton. Lupe is Hawaiian for Ruby.
