This ray is named after the lovely Hawaiian Princess Kaiulani. This manta ray is a beautiful young female, about 6’ across. She was first identified at the Kona Surf site on the night of July 9, 1997. There was no plankton in the water and she did not feed, but she did make several passes by the group of divers.
