The manta was seen surface feeding in a current line (Dec 27, 2017) with several other mantas, but I could tell it was a pelagic manta because of the size and the coloration on the dorsal surface. I jumped in with my GoPro right away and managed to get a ventral shot just before it dove down and swam off. Definitely the largest manta I have ever seen, much bigger than the coastal mantas that I see at work every night.
